Both sides had made their case for Asgerd’s share and Arinbjorn needed to remind the king that Bjorn the Yoeman had been fully reinstated to Norway by the king himself. The king was slow to answer so I made a verse.

After additional testimony was heard the king and the judges were sworn in. However, Queen Gunnhild had not spoken yet.
When the queen spoke she berated the king. “Are you going to let this Egil fellow tangle you all up in this matter. I will not have him trampling all over my friends.”
She then hollered to someone in the hall “Alf Askman’, Alf Askman, where are you? Take your men and stop this charade.”
Alf Askman took his men over to where the judges were and cut down the ‘holy rope.’ They then scattered the poles and the judges.
The gathering turned into a melee and thankfully no one had been allowed to bring weapons into the hall.
