The Dehkhoda answered him: “Imbittered fool,
presume you get this wish, for your broken jewel,
you would have to protect its pride – night and day,
while the south — unnoted – would surely slip away.
The love for what has disappeared is blasphemy,
believing in the old south, is surely idolatry.
Live in the west, don’t become an infidel,
living in times passed will only merit hell.
Like the old miner’s secret greed, you chase a fantasy,
your face shows, everyone to read; a historical tragedy.
